Renske van Enschot

In May 2006, Renske van Enschot defended her dissertation “Retoriek in reclame. Waardering voor schema’s en tropen in tekst en beeld”. In this project, she addressed the questions of the extent to which the presence of rhetorical figures influenced the perceived complexity and appreciation of the advertisements harboring such rhetorical figures. She also studied the extent to which the complexity and appreciation effects of rhetorical figures differ for the visual and the verbal mode. An English summary of her research can be found here.
